The Half Life of HR Communication

You post links on your company HR site. You think, “Hey, they’re up there. Our employees should have access to them all them time. They’ll look at them…and keep looking.”

You have 3 hours. That’s how it works. The half life of a link is about 3 hours. That means half of all the people who will click on it will click within 3 hours. After that…the long tail.

I don’t have to remind you that this is an information rich environment. Hell, most of you didn’t read this far. So I can say anything I want. “Look, a flock of turtles!”

Fast, fast, fast. That’s the word of the day. Have fresh content on your HR site…or let it die a long, slow death.
