Take the Stairs

When I exited my train at Market East this morning, I took the stairs up to the main concourse. Two other people walked up with me. And 500 people took the escalator.

I’ve played a little game with myself about stairs for my whole life. When I was 30, I told myself that if I started taking the escalator that I was officially old. When I have a choice (and am not hauling luggage in the airport) I always take the stairs.

I don’t know if it makes a ton of difference. But it makes me more likely to exercise a little bit more. A journey of a thousand miles starts on the stairs for me.
