Morning Rituals at Work

in Engagagement

We sit down and chat when we come into The Fractory. I think it’s an essential part of starting a day out right. We don’t talk about work.

If everyone you work with goes to their offices and cubicles as soon as they come in, what’s the likelihood that you can make teamwork authentic? To get real employee engagement you have to know people. You have to know what they like. What they know. What they pay attention to.

Here’s a set of quick questions to measure how much you know about your colleagues:

  1. How many brothers and sisters do they have?
  2. What’s their favorite food or restaurant?
  3. How far have they traveled? Where?
  4. What would they do if they weren’t working with you?
  5. Will they stay when the economy gets better?

Employee engagement starts with caring. And caring means you have to pay attention.

What’s your morning work ritual?
