Being First on the Train or Driving the Train?

I took that picture of a guy at my train stop. I mean, you have to really want on the train first to squat on your briefcase (who has a hard briefcase anymore?) right next to the tracks. Several people were snickering about it. I took his picture (quietly).

Here’s my HR observation: There’s a chasm between being a leader and simply being pushy. Mr. I’m-Wearing-a-Suit-and-Squating-on-a-Hartmann sure comes off as the latter. What guidance do you give your managers to help them with self awareness? What do you do for the ones who have people snickering behind their back?
